My passion for yoga is rooted in my own personal journey. As a teenager struggling with anxiety and low mood, I discovered that a consistent practice offered a powerful way to find balance. Over 30 years of personal practice and several years of teaching, I’ve not only felt the profound physical, mental, and emotional benefits but have also been driven to understand the science behind them. This led me to complete my British Wheel of Yoga Foundation course before qualifying as a teacher in 2018.
My 20 year career in Human Resources showed me first hand how the stress of the workplace often becomes the stress of everyday life, affecting everything from sleep to relationships. This understanding became the foundation of my teaching philosophy: to provide practical, evidence based tools that help you manage life’s inevitable challenges and build resilience from the inside out.
When I’m not on the mat, you’ll find me walking or running with my dog, Mr. Black, or enjoying the simple things like good music, writing, and photography. I also love the beauty of the seasons, especially the autumn, and spending time with my wonderful husband.
This love for the changing seasons is what inspired me to create The Seasonal Almanac. It’s a space where I share monthly Field Notes on nature, biology, and the art of slowing down. If you would like a monthly permission slip to connect with the natural world, I’d love for you to join me there.
If you have any questions or are thinking about starting or returning to your yoga practice, please get in touch.
Namaste, Claire x
