Hello, I’m Claire and this is me with Mr. Joe Black.
I am a British Wheel of Yoga teacher who loves to write, capture the changing seasons, and enjoy a slower pace of life. I live in the East Riding of Yorkshire with my husband and our English Pointer, Mr. Joe Black.
In a world that constantly demands we push, expand, and stay visible, my passion is creating safe, warm spaces where you can slow down, relax your shoulders, and just breathe.

My path with yoga began over thirty years ago. As a teenager, stepping onto the mat became a quiet space to find my feet during times of anxiety and low mood. It became the anchor I always returned to – especially later, during a twenty-year career in Human Resources where I saw firsthand how easily the friction and noise of the modern world can wear us down.
Those years taught me that our nervous systems don’t need complicated formulas or strict regimes to find balance. They just need genuine permission to pause.
Whether I am guiding a gentle Hatha practice in a local class or tracking the changing seasons on a long walk with Joe, my philosophy is the same: to offer a practical, grounded space to restore.
When I’m not on the mat, you’ll usually find me walking the field edges or the coastline with Joe, listening to good music, capturing the landscape through my camera lens, or working on my monthly Substack newsletter. If you enjoy quiet countryside rambles, wide coastal views, and collecting the little treasures that autumn drops, you are exactly where you need to be.
🌿 The Seasonal Almanac: Join the Pack
Alongside my local yoga classes, I write The Seasonal Almanac. It is a completely free quiet corner where I share Field Notes tracking the changing seasons and my adventures with Joe, alongside nervous system resets and gentle reminders of the art of slowing down.
If you are craving a monthly space to slow down, de-stress, and find a gentle connection with the changing seasons, I would love to welcome you into our cosy community.

Namaste, Claire & Joe x
